Connecting your TV (VIDEO)
Method 2 (“better”)
Component video jacks (Pr, Pb, Y)
• The component video jacks are color-coded
green, blue and red.
• Additional component video cables (not
supplied) are required to provide best picture
quality. They are usually color-coded green, blue
and red.
• Connect the component VIDEO OUT jacks on
the receiver to the component VIDEO IN jacks
on your TV so the video content goes from the
receiver to the screen.
Method 1 (“good”)
Composite video jack (yellow)
The basic video jack is color-coded yellow.
Video cable (yellow) is supplied for the connection
for good picture quality.
• Connect the VIDEO OUT jack on the receiver
(RTD396 Home Theater) to the VIDEO IN jack
on your TV so the video content goes from the
receiver to the screen.
• If your television is a high de nition
television, use the unit’s progressive
scan output to get the highest possible video
resolution. Set the Video out to “P-Scan” in SETUP
menu.
• Make sure your TV supports progressive scan
component video signal.
Connecting to AV sources such as Sat/Cable
Box, Game Console or VCR
1. Connect the VIDEO IN jack on the back of the
unit to the VIDEO OUT jack on the AV source.
2. Connect the AUDIO IN (ANALOG R/L) jacks on
the back of the unit to the AUDIO OUT jacks on
the AV source.
3. Connect the yellow plug from VIDEO OUT jack
on your unit to VIDEO IN jack on your TV. Please
refer to the “Connecting your TV (VIDEO)
Method1“.
4. Press the FUNCTION button on the remote
control to select AV IN mode.
Notes
• If you have a mono AV source, the volume level
from the speakers will be low. To avoid this, connect
the left/right audio out from the unit to the left/
right audio inputs on your TV.
• If your AV source has Component Video outputs,
you may connect these directly to your TV while
still using the AUDIO IN jacks on this unit for audio
connection.
